Eno Park Rock Quarry :: Howe Street park entrance ::
The Eno River Park Rock Quarry is the most relaxing place to cool off on a hot summer day just floating on an inner tube. Located in Northwest Durham right off I-85, this body of water makes a great place for an afternoon swim. Find your way to Sparger Road between Hillsborough Road and Cole Mill Road; just north of crossing I-85 turn on Howe Street. The Eno River Park entrance is at the end of the street. About a half mile walk from the parking lot to the quarry also makes it a good chance to get some exercise and enjoy the beauty of the forest. History buffs might enjoy knowing that the granite from this quarry was used in the construction of I-85 from Greensboro to Durham.

The Lantern :: 423 West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC :: (919) 969-8846
The Lantern is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Chapel Hill. Andrea Reusing and her brother Brendan Reusing are the chef-owners of Lantern. Their goal is to present simple, authentic Asian food with the freshest available Ingredients. The striking dining room and bar were designed by N.C. native (and current NYC resident) David Doernberg, an old friend and designer working in the film and television industry. The Lantern opened in 2002.
