Carrboro NC - a village of trees, bicycles and walking paths and involved people - Carrboro NC started as a mill town and still has many small shaded streets lined with well cared for mill homes. Newer communities in Carrboro feature uniquely designed homes and strong community spirit. The heart of the community is the Carrboro Farmers Market and the gathering points of Weaver Street Market (a coop owned grocery store), the community center - the Carrboro Century Center, an historic main street and the very active Arts Center. The Carrboro Historic District includes the former textile mill, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which is now a charming shopping mall. Carrboro is a walking and biking town that comes together often to celebrate life. Most of the town is within walking distance of the town center, Franklin Street and UNC in neighboring Chapel Hill.

Through June 2010 in Carrboro, 42 homes sold through the MLS for an average price of $290,103 and average price per SqFt of $164. This compares to 67 homes per year over the previous three years selling for average of $316,168 and for average per SqFt of $171.
